Like a ladder to infinity
Vanishing into obscurity
The obelisk gently touching
A corner in time
As the Egyptian Princess floating
Searching the hallways of her mind
Where the hieroglyphics of her soul reside
Napoleon in his soldier suit
Looking like he’s trying to hide
Just in between two princesses
Revolving with words and reflections
Above calendars and numbers
Symbols amongst recollections
Of coastline dreams
And flying machines
Columbus floating in the corner
Near Infinity’s Horizon
He’s still searching
For the Shadow of the Rose
Looking like a total eclipse
Of both the heart and the soul
Charts and graphs are obsolete
He’s seen the Gypsy
She said that the map is tattooed
From his fingertips
To his hips
Along pathways
And through doorways
Rising to a gentle kiss
Caught off guard
Sometimes in retreat
Napoleon staring into the nocturnal mist
Where memories of Elba linger
Thinking about past and present
Wondering if they’ll ever meet
